Summer Camp Leaders - Warren
Job Description:
We are looking to hire 2-3 mature students to lead our Summer Day Camp. We are looking for camp leaders who are prepared to lead a primarily outdoor camp and who have the imagination to use our outdoor facilities (bike hills, skateboard park, playgrounds, and sport fields) to provide a safe and enjoyable summer for our campers.
Camp leaders are responsible for planning day to day camp activities, actively engaging campers during camp activities, ensuring the safety of the kids in the program by directly supervising the kids at all times and exercising good judgement when observing and disciplining campers.
As a Summer Camp Leader, you will:
- Supervise groups of children
- Assist and participate in group activities including but not limited to crafts and science experiments, sports and other physical activities
- Use group management skills to engage all children in daily activities
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for campers
- Serve as a role model for campers
- Manages accidents and incidents according to procedures
- Complete required reports/paperwork
- Oversee general upkeep and care of equipment, supplies and facilities used.
- Arrive at work on time in summer camp appropriate attire
- Communicate on a regular basis with summer camp leader, participants, parent/guardians, and Recreation office staff regarding questions, concerns and emerging issues
- Perform other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- These are full time positions and are open to youth between the ages of 16-29.
- Successful candidates must have CPR/First Aid training (training available).
- They may be required to submit a Criminal Record check (18 years and older) and Child Abuse Registry check.
- Staff schedules fall between 7:45am-5:15pm, Monday to Friday in July and August and will start late June 2022.
- Having a class 5 Driver’s License is not a requirement but will be considered an asset.
Ground Maintenance - Warren
Job Description:
Reporting to the Recreation Facilitator, the grounds maintenance person is responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the summer camp grounds, and greenspaces around the town of Warren. There will be opportunities to work around the RM of Woodlands and the RM of Rosser as seen fit by the Recreation Facilitator, and the municipal maintenance teams.
As ground maintenance you will:
Reporting to the Recreation Facilitator, the grounds maintenance person is responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the summer camp grounds, and greenspaces around the town of Warren. There will be opportunities to work around the RM of Woodlands and the RM of Rosser as seen fit by the Recreation Facilitator, and the municipal maintenance teams.
As ground maintenance you will:
- Assist in outdoor community projects
- Preform landscape work like such as cutting grass, and weed control
- Assist with summer camp maintenance as needed
- Assist in minor projects and general cleaning
- May be assigned to other duties during inclement weather.
- This is a full-time position open to youth between the ages of 16-29. Starting in Late June for the months of July/August (weather dependent)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Demonstrate physical fitness to perform the duties of the job (lifting, carrying, bending, walking and other physical tasks as required.)
- Relevant experience is considered an asset.
